I stay away from BANE and SHIELD OF FAITH due to concentration issues. Great for multiple enemy fights where they come to you. Spiritual Weapon is also decent.ĪLWAYS GET SPIRIT GUARDIANS. HEALING WORD (most important heal spell). Most important CANTRIP is Spare the Dyingįor spells you want Inflict wounds. Which means 2H sword so you can have a hand free to cast. If you go LAW make sure you go Lawkeeper background. If cleric and Wizard both have it you can shut people down.Ĭounterspell is fantastic against all the bosses and casters. Law is GREAT because you get a few good spells but mainly for SHIELD and the most important one COUNTERSPELL. By the time you get some faction armor the difference is 1 ac which while good it is not enough to break a build.īattle is great because of the offensive spells and the casting while hands full trait. IMHO Battle and Law are the best Domains. they are good burst fighters with utility and need high CHA anyway. If you want to have a FACE just get a pally. It only really matters in 2 instances but even then it doesnt really effect much. ![]() ![]() The game plays out the same no matter what you say. One thing about this game you should know. Clerics in particular have a lot of concentration spells ie bless, protection spells, and spirit guardians. The more con you have the more likely you will pass a check. Anytime you take damage you roll a concentration check if you fail then you lose the concentrated spell. Just so you know, constitution is important for concentration spells. Since I can heal myself I thought I'd go a bit light on Con, but yeah it looks like one of my other "should have" abilities might be gimped. I figure rolling dice for ability points would produce a few good stats. If you skip str you can 12-14 cha.Įven if you do not have a paladin in your group it is much easier to pick up 12-14 cha on a wizard, rogue or even a fighter. Ideally you want 16 wis, 14 or 16 con, 14 dex, and if you want any str you are already hurting for ability points. But it is hard to get more than 12 charisma on a sword and board cleric with point buy. I understand and if you just want higher charisma for RP purposes that is fine. I should have mentioned earlier that I didn't intend to bring a Paladin. Deception, Persuasion and Intimidation are Cha based and look pretty darn important to me (RP wise). The Half-Elf gets +2 Cha so that leaves 1 for Wis and 1 for Str. I've found survival or athletics and acrobatics to be more valuable. I've personally found charisma based skills to be very weak in Solasta, since they do little except for talking your way out of some combat scenarios. ![]() Battle Clerics and paladins are already the most MAD in terms of abilities, so they will have a hard time picking up tertiary stats.
